Very sad to hear of the passing of Ichikawa Jun.

His adaptation of Murikami’s Tony Takitani is sublime. Even the seemingly standard teen drama How to become myself rises above the ordinary.

I’m looking forward to the self financed Buy a suit his last film.

A new trailer is out for my wifes movie Kung Fu Panda.

Soon they should have a comedy trailer and an action trailer, Look for the action one as this movie especially shines in the action department.

Check it out!

From the ‘coulda been’ dept. I was asked to contribute to an anthology
coming from Image comics but was too lame and couldn’t finish something in time

check it out it’s called… POPGUN

Writer and hep cat Mark Smith put the whole thing together and did a real nice job.

Sorry I let you down Mark…

“the creative act in art involves a kind of courage which good taste might easily modify. It almost seems as if the creative impulse involves a large ingredient of vulgarity to be a vital statement. In drawing, an excess of what we think of as good taste can only result in an anemic product, while the more vulgar statement… is invariably stimulating.”
